Day 5--Endwell, NY

Day 2: Danbury, CT to New Paltz, NY--60 miles
Day 3: New Paltz, NY to Calicoon, NY--70 miles
Day 4: Calicoon, NY to Endwell, NY--85 miles
Day 5: Day Off--Build Day with HFH of Broome County

So the group has been together for a full week now and has made 250 miles of biking progress all the way to Endwell, NY. Perhaps another 100 miles or so of non-progress has been made by each rider as well. It's been quite an adventure to date.

Highlights from the last four days include:
  • Stopping at a $0.25 lemonade stand at the New Paltz city line. $11.25 buys a LOT of lemonade, and made the day for a pair of young girls.
  • Playing in a waterfall atop a high mountain climb outside of New Paltz.
  • Crossing the Connecticut/New York border
  • Crossing the New York/Pennsylvania border (4 times!)
  • Countless wrong turns, 98 degree weather, and humidity to boot.
  • HILLS
  • Laundry! (No really. We stink.)
  • Spending a day with the Habitat affiliate in Endwell! Some folks put up drywall, others put down top soil, and a final group absolutely destroyed a house (as they were instructed to do) on a mountain overlooking Binghamton ("Habitat in Reverse"). And everyone got to sleep in 'til 8 am, 3 hours later than our normal wake up call.
  • Roller and Bill were interviewed by local radio personalities in Binghamton and performed awesomely.

Internet access has been sparse, but we'll try to keep this updated more regularly. Keep checking in!
